Mesopatamian Project
Geography
Mesopatamia is surrounded by two rivers called
Tigris and Euphrates. These two rivers deposit surplus of silt which led to
growing crops eaily and getting to harvest more.Mesopatamia had strange
landscape and they had scrubby plants. Mesopatamia has brick or wooden houses
and only ten inches of rain would pour in that area so the only water source is
the rivers.
Religion
The mesopatamians were polytheistics and they would praise the gods of the fresh water, hills, sky-sun, and wind. They also would try to satisfy these gods so they could be supplied to their god's power. Priests and ruler were the ones that were responsible to that so they made a ziggurat, temple in other words, and worshiped and honored them on the most top series of platform. They also made sacrifices so bad things won't come up to them.
Achievements
What the Mesopatamians desired most were their irrigation systems which helped on controling the two rapid rivers around their homes. Others were inventions and technologies to keep them working simply, daily. Also they desired the heiroglyphs, which were transformed from pictograph. Heiroglyphs are wedge-shaped symbols which abled them to communicate and cooperate with each other simply.
Politics
There weren't rulers of Mesopatamia but there were Sargon of Akaddians, their first ruler and was wise; there was Hammurabi of Babylonians, and he made the code of law which include "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth". The Assyrians came to rule harshly but unfortunantely there was an invasion of the Chaldeans and the Medes united. Then the Chaldeans ruled with Nebachadnezzar the 2nd. Then Came Cyrus of Medes to rule and he was nice and wise, also he ruled the Fertile Crescent but came into power of the wider empire.
Economics
Mesopatamians earned money by selling and trading, and also minted coins. Mesopatamians traded things in need and also bought items with minted coins. One other way is to grow surplus of crops which mostly is similar to money.
Social Structure
In the social structures there would be rulers and priests; merchants, artisans, herders and people with rights; and then there would be the slaves and people with no jobs since they had no rights but could be bought. Rulers and priests were the highest since they had rights.
