How My Teacher Was An Advocate
I had a teacher named Margot and she taught in Community Magnet Charter. We also had a behavior system with colored cards. Orange was perfect behavior, green was a average good behavior, yellow was a warning for what you have done, red was a bad consequence happening twice, and blue was a detention and a phone call home. In classes I was an average student. I did pretty well in class and just followed directions. I had many friends and some had been ruining their reputation as their actions grew worse. I talked with them and ate lunch with them and I saw what had happened. I got used to seeing my friends do horrible things and soon I have been doing the same. Now it was a habit I couldn't stop.
In class with Margot I have been doing worse. I was getting yellow cards almost every time. I tried to stop this behavior and I needed to talk to Margot. I told her I needed time to stop my behavior and told her I will try to do better. I stopped hanging out with friends and I decided I should keep reminding myself to stop bad behaviors. It worked out. Margot also talked to me of how my behaviors could change and how I can do better after lunch. I was ready in class and Margot nodded at me. I tried my best and kept answering questions while I participated in lessons. I was doing better by the time. While it was time for the end of school Margot told me I had been doing well and told me to do even better in middle school. I have seen how a great teacher Margot had been. She was a great role model for me and was an advocate for me to change.
